Captain Richard Phillips is an American merchant mariner and author who served as Captain of the MV Maersk Alabama during its hijacking by Somali pirates in April 2009.
In 2010, he wrote his book on his experience called " A Captain's Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea." Soon after in 2013, Tom Hanks starred in the Hollywood Film "Captain Phillips," a biographical action thriller that screen writer Billy Ray based on Captain Phillips book.
Michigan Heroes Museum in partnership with Frankenmuth School District, are excited to announce "An Evening with Captain Phillips." ​ Come hear the thrilling tale in person at Bronner Performance Center. you will not be disappointed!
